Behind the lens with Jacqueline & Joseph

Initially, I set out to become a graphic designer, I loved the process of building a clients dream from sketch to actual tangible items. Whether it is laying down the foundational work of building a brand or designing a book, all roads lead to good imagery.
At the time I was still in school, my husband, Joseph and my sister Kristin encouraged me to take a photography course to sharpen and widen my skill set. I was a bit reluctant but sure enough he was right, the principles from design and photography mirrored each other and I was able to grow in both areas.
My role as a graphic designer and a photographer has many similarities but in the end it all comes down to the message. As a graphic designer, my main focus is to project the image my client has in mind. As a photographer the message presents its self while shooting; capturing it and letting the beholder receive and absorb the moment.
In both instances imagery is being presented and conveyed; as the photographer, I have come to figure out that my message is we all live in a spectacular place filled with beauty and wonder.
We are, as all things in this world, such marvels of design and artistry. I see things daily that remind me of the overwhelming perfection of God's creation.

BEHIND THE PHOTOS
If you asked me what was my favorite type of sessions are, I would choose all of them! I am humbled that I get a front-row seat and get the opportunity to aid in the documenting of a life legacy. Probably my best moment is when a client chooses me as there family photographer. It's a beautiful thing to document a couple from engagement, the wedding day, maternity, and baby's first photos. It’s been quite remarkable, to say the least.
